about us
George and Cindy – the garden center owners.
George, raised on a nearby farm, began the business in 1985 as a produce stand and by 1988, expanded the business into a garden center. We are the family owned garden center with mulch more.
George III began his business, the Country Bumpkin, as a produce stand in 1986 at the corner of Rt. 176 and Gilmer Rd. in unincorporated Mundelein, IL.
Nearby, on his parents farm, he grew the produce and helped his father farm hundreds of acres around Freemont Township. In 1988 he expanded by purchasing property at Gilmer Rd. & Hawley St., and built what is now the Country Bumpkin Garden Center. Today, George is joined by his wife, Cindy and their 2 children and run a full service garden center.
